Work Days

GARTRA regularly organizes workdays (weather permitting) at four of the USFS ORV parks in Georgia. These include Whissenhunt (Dahlonega, GA), Locust Stake (near Toccoa, GA), Oakey Mountain (near Lake Burton), and Town Creek (Greensboro, GA). Typical workdays begin at 09:00 am with an organizational/safety meeting presented by the trail captain. Some days there may be specific projects planned like building baracades, bridges or putting up silt fencing, and other days may be just general maintenance including clearing fallen trees, cutting back brush, and repairing ruts and mud holes.
